Vauxhall door shells - correct repair method provided

'Clock Watcher' posted a message on the ABP Club forum on 1 April 2009 regarding Vauxhall doorshells: “Genuine Vauxhall doorshells now need the hinges to be adjusted and welded into the correct position? similar to the old issue we used to encounter with Ford Escorts! I asked for my parts manager to get me something from Vauxhall to confirm this fact but it seems that they are very reluctant to put this required modification in writing! Obviously; without this information from Vauxhall any work providers will be unwilling to pay for the extra work required and in turn us repairers will loose out!! Firstly; Are any other repairers out their aware of this fact? or have I been given some duff information? Secondly; If this is true and the information is not forthcoming from the manufacture how do we stand? and will the estimating system houses be updating the repair times accordingly?” ABP Club forwarded this and several follow-on message to Bernard Berman Vauxhall’s Accident Repair Channel Manager GM UK & Ireland for investigation.
