Inflation rate - CPI rose to 5.5% for the 12 months to January 2022 - highest for 25 years; RPI rose to 7.5%

The ONS said electricity bills were up 19% in the year to January 2022 and gas bills up by 28%. This together with higher clothing and footwear prices pushed the CPI inflation rate to a 30-year high .....
